Terms and Conditions

1. Purpose of Services
​
Sober companion and sober coaching services provide structure, accountability, and supportive guidance to individuals seeking to establish or maintain sobriety. These services are non-clinical, non-medical, and not a replacement for detoxification, therapy, inpatient treatment, psychiatric care, or emergency services.
2. Scope of Services
​
-Services may include:In-person companionship and structured sober support
-Daily coaching sessions.
-Accountability check-insSupport with maintaining routines, appointments, and life-skills.
-Transportation related to sober-support activities.
-Relapse-prevention guidance within the provider’s scope.
-Coordination with treatment teams when appropriate.

Providers do NOT offer:
-Medical advice or treatment.
-Therapy or clinical counseling.
-Medication management.
-Psychiatric evaluations.
-Crisis intervention beyond basic safety protocol.
3. Client Eligibility
​
Clients must be:
-Medically and psychiatrically stable to participate.
The company may require:
-Medical or psychiatric clearance Information relevant to safety.
-Referral to a higher level of care if needs exceed scope.
-The company reserves the right to discontinue services if safety concerns arise.
4. Client Responsibilities
​
Clients agree to:
-Provide accurate information regarding medical, psychiatric, and substance-use history
-Ensure a safe, respectful environment for staff.
Abstain from illegal activity during service hours.
Comply with safety recommendations.
Maintain healthy boundaries and avoid inappropriate contact with staff.
Failure to comply may result in immediate service termination.
5. Code of Conduct

To maintain a professional, therapeutic, and safe environment, clients agree to the following standards:
Client Will Not:
-Engage in verbal, physical, or sexual harassment
Bring illegal substances or weapons into the service environment
Demand tasks outside the provider’s scope or job description
Attempt to use substances during service hours
Require the sober companion to violate ethical or safety guidelines
Enter the sober companion’s personal space (room, belongings, phone) without permission.
Client Will:
Treat staff with dignity and respect.
Maintain appropriate communication and tone.
Follow reasonable guidance related to safety and relapse preventionInform staff of any changes in physical or mental health status.
Participate in services in good faith and with willingness toward sobriety.
Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal of the sober companion and termination of services without refund.

6. Professional Boundaries
​
To preserve therapeutic integrity and safety, the following boundaries apply:
Providers Will Not:
-Give or accept personal gifts.
-Engage in romantic, sexual, or dual relationships with clients.
-Share beds or sleeping arrangements with clients.
-Use substances with clients.
-Provide direct medical or psychological treatment.
-Transport clients under the influence unless for safety/emergency procedures.
-Participate in illegal or high-risk activities.

Clients Agree To:
-Respect the companion’s personal time, privacy, and rest.
-Use appropriate communication channels.
-Avoid demands beyond contracted duties.
-Avoid inappropriate emotional, physical, or sexual contact.
-Boundaries protect both parties and are strictly enforced.

7. Payment Terms
​
-All fees must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed upon.
-Rates may be daily, hourly, or weekly based on contract terms.
-Additional costs (travel, per diem, lodging, mileage, emergency needs) may be charged.
-Time is billed door-to-door, including transportation and wait-time when applicable.
8. Payment Authorization

By signing or booking services, the client authorizes:
-The company to charge the agreed-upon fees to the provided payment method.
-Charges for overtime, extended hours, travel, or additional expenses as incurred.
-Charges for cancellation fees, no-shows, or early termination fees as outlinedThe company to retain credit card or payment information securely for billing purposes.
-Clients acknowledge responsibility for all associated costs of service.

9. Cancellation & Refund Policy
​
-Cancellations more than 24 hours in advance receive a full refund.
-Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 20% cancellation fee.
-No-shows are billed at 100% of the service fee.
-If services are terminated due to safety concerns, non-compliance, or undisclosed risks, refunds may be limited or unavailable
-.Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
10. Confidentiality

-All client information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
-Information may be released only:
-With written client consent.
-When required by law.
-To protect the safety of the client or others.
-To coordinate care with treatment providers when appropriate

11. Safety Protocol
​
-Providers are not first responders and may not intervene in medical emergencies beyond basic support
-In emergency situations, staff may:
-Call 911.
-Contact designated emergency contacts.
-Transport the client to a safe location if appropriate.
Notify the treatment team or family if permitted.
The company is not liable for outcomes resulting from client behavior, relapse, or emergency circumstances.
12. Liability Limitations
​
Clients acknowledge that:
-Sobriety outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
-Services are supportive and not a clinical treatment modality.
-The company is not responsible for relapse, injury, overdose, accidents, emotional distress, or consequences of client choices.
The client holds the company harmless for damages arising from:
-Client behavior or decisions.
-Non-compliance with recommendations..
-Relapse or substance use during or after services.
-Environmental risks outside staff control.
13. Termination of Services
​
The company may terminate services immediately if:
-The environment becomes unsafeThere is aggression, harassment, or boundary crossing.
-Illegal substances are present
-Payment is not received
-The client requires a clinical or higher level of care
-The client becomes medically or psychiatrically unstable
Refund determinations will follow the cancellation policy.

14. Informed Consent
​
By receiving services, the client acknowledges that they understand and agree to the following:
-Sober companions and sober coaches are not medical or clinical providers
-Services support but do not replace licensed treatment
-Relapse risk remains the client’s responsibility
-Providers may set limits to preserve safety
-The client may withdraw consent for services at any time.
-The company may withdraw services if safety or ethical concerns arise.
-The client has had the opportunity to ask questions and understands the nature, risks, and limitations of sober support services

15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the state in which the company operates.
All disputes will be handled through binding arbitration unless otherwise required by statute.
16. Client AcknowledgmentBy booking or receiving services, the client affirms that they have read, understood, and agree to all Terms & Conditions, including the Code of Conduct, Boundaries, Payment Authorization, and Informed Consent.
